6 Ways You Should Spend Your Sunday to Avoid that 'Hate' For Your Work-Week!

Hey! Okay, quick fact before I start this post, we are about 30 days away from Diwali and almost about 100 days away from NYE 2017. Hate me all you want for this realization, but yes, 2017, I feel, was just a 'blink of an eye'. While we were all blessed with multiple long weekends this year, which made it all the more difficult to get back to work on a *Monday*, well Monday is always dreaded whether it is a long-weekend or a target-chasing month end. Then we have Sunday, I recollect the moment where Chandler (from F.R.I.E.N.D.S.) says, "Monica, its Sunday, I don't move on Sundays" - Yes, this line, pretty-much sums the millennials' way of spending this owned holiday.

Now, to develop a motivating work-culture so that the employees work well through-out the week is one of the objectives of the HR Dept. as a whole, agreed. But, think about it, if spending a Sunday in a better way, through some kind of rejuvenating activities will definitely help you develop yourself towards achieving your personal goals, and, it would also make your 'week' a more productive one, hence, you won't dread the office that actually fills your stomach and makes you capable to sleep peacefully in a home.
The ways to effectively spend a Sunday so that you have an amazing week ahead, is the basis of this post. Read on to know more and make sure you implement it on the coming Sunday itself ;)

1. Sleep:
Sleep is important. But sleeping all day? No. It just makes you extremely lazy. When you sleep the entire day, and then be a night-owl, its definite that you won't be able to get up on time on a Monday. Once you're up late, the rush to reach work demotivates you, and that's when there's a #IHateMonday Post on your Instagram and Snapchat. Sleeping for about 1-2 hours more than your usual waking time is more than enough.

2. Plan your Week:
One of the most effective ways to have a super week at work is having the entire week 'planned in advance'. Apart from the meetings and other agenda at work, you will obviously be having certain tasks that you are assigned to complete on your own, so make a schedule for those tasks in an efficient way so that you avoid those 'extra hours' at work.

3. It's Time for 'Yourself':
If you have read my posts previously, I have done an entire post on how spending time with one's own self makes you a better version of yourself. If not, here is the link. So, spend time with yourself and do the hobby that makes your mind relax. Off-late, I have found these 'Adult Mandala Coloring Books' a really effective way to unwind, just the book, color pencils and music, and its an evening well spent.

4. 'Get Out':
Get Out, yes literally, but not at some lounge with raunchy music or so. Visit some peaceful place, or any place that brings back memories to you and makes your mind happy. This is really one of the easiest ways to refresh. It can be any book-store, or even retail therapy (per se), or out with family, or to the beach for a jog or bringing back the Sunday Colony Sessions of Cricket or Badminton or so, any such activity that you rejoice.

5. Clean:
Studies suggest that cleaning your room, house, or even your little drawers and re-organizing them, as an effective tool to evolve into a person who is more focused or lets say less messy in all walks. So, Sunday seems the right day to do this 'decluttering' right?

6. Keep your phone away:
Have you tried the 'Digital Detox' ever? Okay, I dare you to. Keep your phone aside for a day, or rather, no mobile data or wifi for a day, which means no checking notifications, emails, Facebook check-ins, Snapchats, Twitter handle or Instagram feed for an entire day. Once you can do this for an entire day, I'm sure you'll have lesser distractions in between your 9 to 5 work hours!

These are the top 5 ways, which I have tried and tested, over the year, as a tool to have an energized week and productively finishing assignments on time. Comment down below if you would give any of these a try, and also, if you have more such ideas to share, would be really glad to hear from you.

Hope you have a contended Sunday!

Much Love, Positivity and Gratitude.
