How To Deal With The Phase - 'Too Much To Do, Too Little Time'.

Hello there!! We're already through the first week of 2018 and I hope you are still intact with your New Year Resolutions and Goals in place and time management is working in your favour because that is the factor that make all the difference.

I'm sure each one of us, has sometime or the other, been in a phase where time is just absolutely slipping away and we aren't able to keep pace with all that is happening around. There is just so much that we want to do, we wish to achieve, we wish to enjoy, but we end up allocating unequal time to those things and then we regret on it. This phase is what I like to call it as - 'Too Much To Do, Too Little Time' - it's like, 24 hours aren't enough to work, work-out and maintain health, maintain a social life, go for outings, and above all, maintain all these things in the set budget. No matter how much you are organized, set your daily to-do lists, reminders and planners, things slip out at times, and guess what, its okay, because I'm going to share with you'll, my views and tried ways to be better at doing more that you have aimed for / wished for!

Step #1 - Write Everything Down
Give yourself that one hour alone and just write everything down. It need not be in order or in categories, just write everything down that you want to do and keep that list ready. The more you write randomly, the more thoughts will flow freely and you will get more insights about all that you want to do.

Step #2 - Prioritize
Once your list is ready, prioritize the tasks based on the urgency / importance. Once you do this you will get more clarity as to what needs to be done now, in the coming days, coming weeks and so on, rather than being unclear about which aspect or goal should get your time first - mind you, this is different than the amount of time, this step is about ranking the tasks.

Step #3 - 80:20 Rule Works
Experts say that 80% of your goals and outcomes are fruitful with 20% of the tasks that require maximum effort. Make this rule work in your favour and tag the tasks that require the 'All In' attitude to get the maximum benefits out of those tasks. There is an amazing book written about this rule - The 80/20 Principle - The Secret of Achieving More with Less - By Richard Koch - do give this one a read.

Step #4 - Break Down The Goals Time-wise
This step involves adding specific amount of time to tasks that you have segregated based on the above steps. Once you have an idea about the approximate timelines, you can then set your days' to-do list accordingly.

Step #5 - Don't Wait For The Right Time / People
One of the reasons we miss out on things is because we wait for the right time and probably for the right people to accompany us in the tasks that we want to do. Avoid this as much as you can and set out on your own and help as yourself as much as you can. In this way, you will feel elated and more self-motivated to achieve more.

*PS - Always Be Firm About Your Goals And Visions, But Be Flexible About Your Methods! The reason I'm saying this is because, if things might not go as per your timeline or your schedule, don't push yourself too hard and sulk into not being able to follow it, adapt and be agile so that you can work your way out of any difficulties easily.

So, I hope these tips and tricks work for you and you make the most of the time that you have in your hand, above all, enjoy the process and you will enjoy the outcome even more!

Much Love, Positivity and Gratitude.
