6 Ways the Organizations can contribute towards the Indian Government's 'Employment' Goals.

Hello there!
The last Quarter of 2017 is here, October has started with a week of quite a few economic reforms, well GST reforms per se and the confusing weather of October Heat with unexpected downpours. While the weather is playing up, the Government of India, with its GST slab reforms yesterday, created a buzz into the business world, which gets me to writing about another aspect of business which is equally important, and that is, the human capital, the people that drive the business.

The Government had put forth its prospects of implementing reforms for improving the employment conditions of our country, but the tenure of the current ruling party, till now, has focused more on reforming the economy (the Demonetization and GST regulations) without taking into consideration the simplest 'economic rule' that there needs to be income in a house to be able to spend (outcome) and for the economy to rise.
In my opinion, I agree that there has been a low-key improvement in the 'creating jobs' space to keep up with the increasing population of the 'working age' each year in India, but successful reforms take time to be un-freezed, changed and re-freezed, which is why, instead of doubting and blaming the Government's potential, we the people, i.e. people who own businesses, should also look at it as a 'responsibility' to create an environment of more jobs and help the Government achieve its vision for India.

1) Strengthen India's Strength - Agriculture:
Agriculture has driven the Indian economy since the Independence time, and if there is anything that can be done to improvise on employment, it can be done through strengthening the strength that India has, i.e. Agriculture. There have been reforms in the farm loan waivers but there can be more additions to it, which can be concentrated into the rural areas, such as: tax exemptions on farm enhancing 'naturo-chemicals', implementing rain-water harvesting on every roof, organic fruits and vegetables market can be expanded and the likes, all related to farming and agriculture.
2) Emphasize on MSMEs in the Rural Areas:
There are numerous BFSI and NBFC organizations that provide the loans to MSMEs, and then there is the lowering of GST on the MSMEs which has been added, hence working around the MSME sector looks like an advantageous prospect. Hence, it should also be incorporated and marketed more into the rural areas to ensure the small towns and villages also flourish equally when it comes to economic reforming by creating more jobs and work prospects.

3) Women in the front-seat:
India has an ever increasing women work-force, something that every individual of our country should be extremely proud of. The Government has taken their share of measures into empowering the Women Entrepreneurs, and now, organizations can help in a way where-in, there can be more diversification of jobs and work roles which would help women take the front-seat. What's more, once the woman earns, there is a natural urge to spend on reasonable lifestyle related things, which in itself can be a flourishing industry.
4) Ways out through CSR:
CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility - is an extremely fruitful initiative that the employers are opting for, and it is encouragingly advisable for more and more organizations to take up CSR initiatives. One such activity can be providing basic professional training courses to the support staff, or to under-developed regions of the country and hire them or assist in getting them hired in the organizations. Another activity can be fund-raisers for NGOs and reform-driven organizations. Such CSR activities will empower more and more individuals into being more 'employable'.
5) Planned Expansion:
The organizations should shift focus on creating value rather than profits, because in the long-run and in this V.U.C.A. dominated corporate environment, the survival of the fittest is always taken into account, hence the organization can take it up to create expansion strategies in such a way that it empowers the employees, it will create a positive impact on the aspect related to creating more jobs.

6) Organized Employment:
The common trend observed in Indian Organizations related to work-productivity is the fact that employers expect the employees to do 'double' the amount of work in return of a single person's salary, that's when the concept of Work-Life Balance goes hay-wire and people dread jobs. Instead, incorporating an organized manpower plan, it will not only enhance the employment opportunities and productivity, it will also help in retaining the employees due to an increase in satisfaction levels.
So, these were the 6 ways, in which an Organization can take it up on itself to increase employment chances in India. After watching yesterday's update on the GST reforms, it was a well curated topic for me, as an HR student, to put forth opinions regarding employment norms. Share and comment down your views about the various ways in which organizations can help the Government of India accomplish the vision of creating jobs.

Thank you for following my posts till now, it has been one of the biggest motivators to keep this passion of writing going on.
