The Best Practices of 'Employer Branding'.

Hello Everyone!
December is a crazy month and I don't know why but I just feel that time's slipping away from my hands, and, well I'm not able to digest that fact. But with all those 'so much to do, so little time' kind-off days too, December is one month which is most cherished, because the vibe is all about the excitement of the New Year and its New Beginnings - at least this is what I feel about this month though. And... yet again, I missed out putting up a post on a Saturday, and okay I'm not complaining because there's a lot on my plate right now and I feel Sunday is better off to write things down and unwind because that's like my 'Break Day', so I'll just be at peace with myself.

I'm taking today's post as a medium to share all the 'whats', 'whens', 'wheres', 'whys' and 'hows' of something that every organization should consider as an effective tool to communicate 'about' their organization with the current employees and potential candidates, which is - Employer Branding. So, here are all the details about this topic and also why it has gained so much importance in today's corporate scenario.

What is 'Employer Branding'?
Employer branding is the process of promoting a company, or an organization, as the employer of choice to a desired target group, one which a company needs and wants to recruit and retain and to enhance its 'digital footprint' across its sector. In today's Corporate Environment, where there is immense increase in the awareness of the fact that employees really do come first, Employer Branding is an extremely effective tool, which more-or-less is a part of the large vertical of HR - Employee Engagement.

When should an Organization opt for Employer Branding?
There is no 'when' or rather 'time' constraint related to Employer Branding, it is more of a 'strategic' lookout. But yes, once the Organization, established or start-up, is clear about its values, visions and missions and when the organization's culture is in place with a considerate amount of employees as required by the organization, that is when the company should begin with Employer Branding as a tool to portray all of its aspects.

Where should Employer Branding take place?
There are various platforms on which an organization should consider putting up Employer Branding posts. The most important one's are:
1. Company / Organization Website
2. LinkedIn and other Professional Social Sites
3. Facebook and Twitter
4. Job Portals Pages
5. Mailers and Online Newsletters

Why should Organization's take up Employer Branding?
If I were to answer this aspect, there's just one sentence which sums up this concept - "The world is online - People as well as Practices." To add to this, here are all the reasons why organization's, who haven't started it or have kept it only to minimal platforms, should take up Employer Branding as a strategic tool:

And now, the most important one:
How to do Employer Branding?
Employer Branding is linked with creativity and there cannot be a specific way when it comes to using creativity. But here are certain examples, as starters, for Employer Branding aspects on which Organization's can develop their branding posts:
1. Employees Photographs with Placards about Motivational Words and Quotes
2. Posts about the Company Culture
3. Messages that Employees want to say about the Organisation
4. Job Postings
5. Company Infrastructure Photographs
6. Posts about Financial Growth of the Company
7. #GreatPlaceToWork Posts
8. Organisation’s DNA words and Employee Benefits
9. Work-Life Balance Posts
10. Thought Leadership, Videos and Other Visuals

So, this is all about the best practices of Employer Branding and how it is one of the most efficient and beneficial tools for enhancing an Organization's People Practices. More and more, top companies have used this as a tool and its time others too include this aspect as a part of their HR Practices, because if employees are first your organization will be first!
